Wild Bill’s Fight Night Recap

Undisputed Productions did it again fight fans, Wild Bill’s Fight Night  to benefit Toys for Tots was extremely successful last night.

It is amazing how fast Wild Bill’s can go from being empty to having 3500+ people!

Congrats to Amy Lynn, Steve Muddler and David Oblas on putting together an exciting event.

Here are some highlights of the action:

- Local powerhouse club Hardcore Gym in Athens, Ga went 3-1 on the night and finished the night with pro fighter Dave Mewborn submitting Roger Carroll in the 2nd round with a Dars Choke.

- Chis McNally from Charleston, SC and Mike Israel from TuF MMA was one of the most anticipated fights of the night as both fighters are extremely talented up and coming 185lb fighters. Chris McNally has been taking the MMA scene by storm with back to back wins at Sin City Fight Club’s cards. Mike Israel has been training for several years in BJJ and has been a local favorite at 185lbs. I don’t know what they have been feeding Chris McNally in SC but this guy is shredded up and is the real deal! McNally earned a submission victory in the second round via a triangle choke. Rumors are circulating that Chris will be fighting on January 9th in Hiram, Georgia against local BJJ Brown Belt Paul Willis (belted under Steve Headden).

- Another advanced ammy fight put two undefeated fighters in the ring to square off: Jerry Tena (TuF MMA) and Justin Barnwell (Rush MMA). This fight went all 3 rounds and the judges scored the fight 30-27 for a unanimous decision victory for Justin Barnwell. Justin definitely had the reach advantage and he was throwing some solid push kicks and kicks to the head that Jerry defended extremely well. Jerry tried using his Judo to take Justin down throughout the fight but it was Justin who took the upper hand when he had Jerry in a triangle choke to close out the 3rd round in his corner.

It would be great to see these two guys fight again. It was one of those fights where three rounds just wasn’t enough to see what each guy had to offer. Hopefully we can see a rematch in the future so we can see these two great athletes square off again.

- Joe Carroll (Husky MMA) vs. Lance Dickson was an exciting fight. Joe Caroll who nicknamed himself “El Dingo Loco” was getting schooled on his feet as Lance came out with overwhelming strikes that dropped Joe to his back. As Lance was using his ground and pound, he left his arm exposed and Joe, a purple belt in BJJ, took advantage putting on a tight arm-bar that completely extended Lance’s arm and he was forced to tap.

After the fight Joe Carroll made sure he lived up to his “El Dingo Loco” nickname and grabbed the microphone and called out Sponsored Fan fighter Frank Millsap by saying, “I’m coming for you!” as they are scheduled to fight January 29th on the Klash of the Kings card.

In the co-main event of the night, Sponsored Fan Fighter Tex Johnson (Alpha Fighting System) fought Johnny Buck (Husky MMA). To fully understand why emotions were so high after the fight you will have to read Mr. Bread’s blogposts about Georgia MMA.

Tex Johnson submits Johnny Buck in 13 seconds due to a heel hook.

Thank you to the following:

Steve Headden, BJ Hedger, Byron Bloodworth, Toe 2 Toe, Brawl Nutrition, ChiroPlus, Omega Attire, Redline Energy and Alpha MMA and Fitness for your continued support of Tex and Sponsored Fan.
